Our Goals for 2023 Part 1: Efficient Content Creation

As we reach the end of the year, I’ve been thinking quite deeply about how far this website has come. The same goes for the community that supports it. Since its inception, we’re extremely proud of what we’ve achieved so far with the site.

At the same time, there are always things we hope for ahead of us on the horizon. Some of our long term goals will stay the same. On the other hand, other goals will change year by year depending on what is manageable for us.

Benefits of a blog

Since I have started a new blog on this website, I have been publishing content a lot more frequently than before. This is something I am especially pleased about.

A lot of these pieces are shorter in length than what I’m used to writing. This is largely why I am able to publish them as often as I do. Clearly, lengthier content will take more time to finish and won’t be as consistent on my schedule.

Content Output

I hope that the step up in production will drive more web traffic my way. Right now, I am publishing posts and articles around three or four times per week which is okay for now. Next year, I want to gradually reach the point where I am eventually putting something out every single day, rain or shine.

Another bonus benefit that I’ve realised while planning this out is that I will be able to post on social media everyday. This is beneficial seeing as twitter and facebook are two of the main methods of promoting my content.

Productivity

It seems year by year that my own ambition and work ethic is constantly improving compared to where it was a decade ago. For this reason, I believe that I could handle this writing obligation by myself (if need be).

I know for a fact that if I really knuckle down then I can fully complete more than one article per working day. Therefore, I should be able to keep up with this demand. Luckily, I have a comfortable backlog for the time being but I am a little worried about being smothered by it all.

If I find that I can’t handle this workload alone for any reason then I have a contingency plan in place. This essentially means cutting the content output back down to four post per week.

Apparently, this is a good rate of consistency for a blogger anyway as I understand from my research. Do you prefer short blog posts or lengthy in-depth articles? How often would you like us to publish content?
