Receiving & Reviewing my FREE Sample of Whiskas Cat Food

A few weeks ago, I wrote about a seemingly great free Whiskas cat food offer. I thought it might be useful to our little money saving community.

As a matter of fact, I didn’t just write about this. In actuality, I actively participated in the free sample promotion. I am now going to report back to you both the good and bad of what I have picked up on.

Which Whiskas cat food flavour did you order?

Out of the two available options, I ordered the chicken flavoured Whiskas pouch cat food. This is because I believed my brother’s cat would like that free Whiskas sample the best. It clearly states on the back of the sachet that the free sample could not be sold so I made sure not to do that.

How long did the cat food free sample delivery take?

I eventually received my sachet of quality cat food in the mail three days after initially ordering the free sample. In terms of being punctual, I thought this was pretty good timing.

I was expecting the Whiskas jelly pouches to take at least a couple of weeks to arrive in the post. Conversely, I even entertained the thought of it not coming at all.

It wouldn’t be all that surprising as this tends to happen from time to time with other free samples by mail or low price offers. The delivery time impressed me a lot so I will look out for the best free sample packs and invitations in the future.

The Whiskas UK free sample was very well packaged coming in a small cardboard box so everything was delivered undamaged. As far as free sample boxes go, the box itself was no larger than an envelope. Clearly, it had to be a little bit thicker to facilitate the contents.

Although, I could definitely see it being easy enough to post through somebody’s door. This was great as it meant that I didn’t need to stay indoors in order to accept it and provide a signature upon delivery.

As well as the pouch, there was also a flyer inside the box too. This basically just said, “thank you”. It also provided me with the social media hashtag #TryWhiskas for the purpose of sharing my thoughts.

I haven’t done this as of yet but I may fire off a tweet at some point. In addition, I know that other free sample products don’t usually offer anything extra like this.

How large or small was the Whiskas wet cat food free sample?

The only real downside of these free sample kits by mail is how small the size of the pouch was. The tiny size of the quality wet cat food sample almost made me think that it might not have been worth the effort for either party.

I was led to believe that this would be one of the standard large sachets that you would find in most stores. On the other hand, it was essentially a mini version of that.

How many Whiskas pouches per day? What is the ideal Whiskas serving size? You would typically need five or six of these to feed a cat in one day.

Is Whiskas good for cats?

My brother was very pleased and gladly accepted the free sample. He told me that his cat Jet enjoyed the free sample and ate all of it.

Interestingly, Whiskas is the same brand my brother and his girlfriend usually buy for Jet anyway. I imagine this is (at least partly) why he liked the Whiskas cat food pouches so much.

This is easily one of the best offers on Whiskas cat food that I’ve found. It is probably the best wet cat food that you can get for free.

Although, many argue that this isn’t the best cat food brand overall. This is why I believe it would be nice to see other vet approved gourmet cat food brands offer free samples such as:

On the whole, I mostly had a resoundingly positive experience with this promotion. Jet felt the same way by the sounds of it as my brother thanked me for the free cat food. Furthermore, he encouraged me to do the same for him again if I ever found another good cat food deal.
